August: Sunshine, Cousins and South Carolina

 Great beginning to a fun month.

Our fox has been hanging around the property, getting lots of ground squirrels.  We had been sitting by the fire when he came up the driveway, stopped and looked at us, stood there for a few seconds before continuing into the yard.  He went right to the circle garden, dug in the mulch and pulled up a dead chipmunk!  Of course I had to "google" it..  seems like they store food for later in a shallow grave.  We seen him a few more times then he moved on.  Our ground squirrel population has been reduced greatly. 

We visited with cousin Linda, Danny, Debbie and Dennis. We met on Aug 4th after my golf game at Trails End Resort in Hayward.  Beautiful day to visit and catch up with everyone.   

I went to South Carolina to visit with my high school friends.  We missed last year but managed to catch up by spending time in the pool at Anne's beautiful home.

Yes we went Axe Throwing.  Bonnie and a few others were able to get a Bulls Eye!

While I was away Eric and Scott went Kayaking on the Brule River. 

I was in South Carolina from Aug 6 to the 15th.  Unfortunately I had to fly in and out of MSP but no worries.. It was all good..

Eric and Steve went Kayaking on the Brule River on Aug 28th.  the water was a bit cooler than earlier in the month.  

We had a bit of rain on Saturday night but enough to wear a poncho??  While trying to torch flys??

After my 4 mile morning walk on Sunday I get back home to find the guys hanging around the fire.  They claimed they just sat down and had been working all morning.  Hmmm...  not too believable

We meet up with Linda and Danny again on Aug 30.  Beautiful day to play a bit of golf and listen to some good music at the TNT bar in downtown Hayward.

Busy month but sadly no Minnesota state fair for us.  maybe next year...
