Our cruise was to go to Key West Fl. and Cozumel Mexico. At midnight we received an email stating that the ship was having engine problems and could not go at fast speeds. Our itinerary was changed to Freeport and Nassau Bahamas. We really did not care where it was going to, we only picked this week to go on a cruise.
We left work early at noon, we were to embark on the ship at 3:00. We don't know Miami or the traffic well enough to feel comfortable to get there late. We arrived at the port at 2:00, we did have a lot of traffic. We went through security at around 3:00, but no ship at the dock.. hmmm.... 4:00 still no ship.... The ship was about 50 miles away. They bussed us to a nearby entertainment center, Bayside Market, with lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment.
We had dinner at the Hofbrau House, and it was happy hour, two drinks for the price of one!

We walked around a bit, had a Mojito and Rum Runner to get the vacation started...
took bus back to port at 8:00 pm. Our room was very nice, bags came promptly.. Thinking we have been on the ship before??? Our safety program did not begin until 10:45!!

Tues Feb 23: Beautiful sunrise right our window! Beautiful.
We docked at Freeport Port Lucayan around 8:00. We got off of the ship at 8:30ish. no plans, just walked around the port area for a few hours.
So this is the same ship we took out of San Diego Thanksgiving 2009!!

then back to the ship for a bit of pool time and of course a nap.
We were to leave the dock at 5:30... Well, we had engine troubles.. Went to dinner, Prime rib and duck, it was all good. Gambled a bit, I was up 22.50, Eric down 5. We finally left the dock at 11 pm!
Wednesday Feb 24: We arrived at Nassau around 8:00 am.
We took a cab to a local National park but the park was closed! Our driver took us to another park at Cable Beach.

We took the bus back to port. $1.25 per person. Our driver took a short cut to save time. His short cut got him a ticket! the police officer was not happy with the route we were taken. Not sure if he actually saved any time.
We had lunch at Lukka Kairi
fun place and good food. Chicken curry and Shrimp and Grits
Nap and movie, dinner at 6:45, Fried chicken and Jerk pork. A short session, Kathy up $25, Eric down 5.
Thurs Feb 25: This is our day at sea. It was too cold and windy to sit by the pool all day. So needless to say I never got into the pool or hot tub. It was a great day of rest and relaxation.

Friday Feb 26: we docked at 7:30 back in Miami. We got off the ship at 10:20. Fun time.. A bit tired and a bit more weight on our bones. Back to work tomorrow....
