Yeah! We are home!

April 17: So happy to see green grass and NO snow on the ground.

After unpacking the car, we had a wonderful campfire.  The one thing we really miss all winter is a good fire.  Sunday was our shopping day!  And we had to shop as we only had two cans of soup and a sleeve of saltines in our bag!

April 22: we have seen snow the last couple of days but nothing stuck.  Only 32 deg on our morning walk!  Way too cold...  But we did take a sauna to warm up our bones.

Our Sandhill crane is back.  Assuming Mrs Crane is on the nest.  He just struts around the yard looking for bugs and corn.  Our woodchuck and the turkeys made an appearance too! A few deer showed up to say hello and some of our birds have returned too!

Pontoon in the water!  I drove the truck back from the boat ramp, first time I drove since pulling the pontoon out of the water in Sept!

The birds are slow to migrate as the winds are coming from the north and it has been quite chilly. Hope that changes next week..

April 26: we headed up to Duluth to purchase a new computer but...  Best Buy did not have any in stock!  When I looked them up on their site, I seen they had at least 2 units. well it must not have been updated as they had zero!  We did manage to spend a bit of money...  new I-Phones.  took about 2 hours but we got it done.

Our trip up and back was cold, windy and rainy.  We did manage to get 3 new year birds at the Superior Dump.  We were hoping to get a few walks in but the rain would not stop. We looked for another 3-4 birds but they went north or were hiding in the trees.

We had a visitor on April 27: The first one in the 20 years we have owned this place.  Well the first one we have seen...

Mr Fox

We have deer, turkeys, sandhill cranes, woodchucks, rabbits, ermine, bears even a mountain lion but we have never seen a fox on our property.

April 30: Mow Day!  the grass was not too long but some spots were in need of a trim.

It's also Fish Fry Friday!  Catfish in the pan!  Oh so good..  we are getting quite good at cooking fish!

It is great to be back home again.  We enjoy our property and all of our animal friends that come back each year.
