July 2021

Most of July we were going through pictures from Alaska and working on the Blog...

Our big buck is still around and so is the Sandhill Crane

the crane twins are getting so big!

the loon family

A rare picture of the Mourning Warbler:

the critters come by each day

Our 4th of July boat parade was pretty lame.. only 4 boats, maybe time to discontinue the parade.  we did have about 20-25 people show up for the gathering at the Forsters place..  pretty hot day but fun to catch up with the neighbors.

The complete family, cranes and deer

this little guy gets tired of jumping around and needs to rest..

oops time to go, mom already left

July 6: we see lots of animals while on our morning walks.  Bear family! 2 cubs

Steve G came up for a kayaking weekend.

it was also

We all lost all of our money!  we did not even win once!  must be rigged!  it goes to the Lions, so its all good.

Steve had to return home and missed the Chris Krouze concert on the lake

July 22: we went to Plover/Stevens Point for a few days of birding.  On the way down we stopped at the car dealer that sold us the Buick last year.  We bought a 2021 chevy Silverado.  Will pick it up next week..  trading in the 2014 Ford 350..

Friday night fishery.  not quite the same as taking the old Caddie

we have not been here in a year.  it was good to see old friends

their source for lake perch dried up so they switched to Walleye.  this was the final fish fry for the season as they don't have enough help to keep the outside dinning open..

our loon baby is getting big

quite a busy month.  We love our little families.  sad to say we lost one of the baby cranes. He was pretty big the last time we seen him so not sure what happened.

We did have a fox come into the driveway, go straight to the circle garden, uncovered a dead chipmunk and walk away!  what the heck??  we did look up the behavior, the article said that they will bury excess food in a shallow grave to eat later.
