Oh its cold and snow still on the ground! Sunday is Easter,
out for our morning walk: I have a few more clothes on than I did last Wednesday!
On Monday we headed to Rice Lake for some shopping, including a new washer and dryer. We only bought the necessities so our fridge is still pretty empty!!
Tuesday was forecasted to be a nice day, sunny, little wind and about 40 deg. We left early, 7:00 am for Superior, the temp was 24 deg... We ended up with 3 new year birds in Superior and 3 at Bark Bay in Bayfield county. Beautiful day to be out and about as tomorrow is suppose to be raining all day.
Our neighbor Brad R. collects maple sap to make syrup. Since it is so cold here in mid April we asked if he had any spare sap. Of course he said yes come and get it. Eric picked up about 50 gal of sap in less than 30 minutes! It was by far the easiest sap collection he has ever done.
We ended up with 9 pints of syrup! Oh so good!!
Our neighbor left us a "Welcome home" note on the side of the road! It said "Hi Kathy and Eric, Welcome Home". how sweet is that?
Took us a whole week but we finally got a fire! it has been so cold, rainy and windy that we had to wait.

Cold weather came back with a vengeance! Two days of temps in the low 30's and snow. time to do a bit of shopping, new TV and ordering new carpet..
Beaver living in the pond on Long Lake Road. The DNR is trying to catch him as he blocks the water, thus flooding the road! He was a really big beaver!
We have had rain, snow, wind and cloudy skies for a week. Friday April 29 is suppose to be the best day for the next two weeks. 60 and sunny. Well they missed the forecast again. it was cold, windy and cloudy. We had planned on going to St Paul Mn to visit with sister Jenny. the 120 mile drive took us about 6 hours as we stopped many times to hike etc. Boy was it cold out! the wind was ferocious and the sun never came out. Oh well, it was a good trip, we were able to visit with Jenny and Todd for about 2 hours. Saturday was forecasted to rain all day. and it rained all day! We just headed home as it was too wet to stop and walk anywhere.
