June 10-

 It's always so nice to be back home! We had a pretty uneventful trip back, although a bit of rain cut our birding short while at George Mead WLR.  

Our plants all survived the draught while we were gone.  Looks like our fruit trees are going to be full of Pears, Apples, Plums and Cherries.  We will see if we get any or if the crazy animals get them all!  The Veggie garden looks good as does the strawberry and blueberry gardens.

June 12: we have twins!  We suspected the Sandhill colts were hatched before we left as we had not seen the parents in two days.  They all came by in the morning for a bit of corn!  

June 13: Kim Galan and friend Lowell came by for a fun day on the lake and dinner with Pam and Terry.

Finally sold the boat lift!  

June 16: looks like one of our Sandhill colts did not make it!  we are down to just one...

June 17: Eric and the guys went kayaking 

June 20: all the gardens, fruit trees and bushes look great. We have harvested a few strawberries and some lettuce.  We can not depend on the animals not taking our blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, apples, plums, cherries or pears but we will attempt to protect our little fruits.  The veggie garden has never been invaded but we keep an eye on it!  We have two tomatoes growing with lots of flowers, peas are flowering and so are the peppers and beans.  We have been very dry with little rain, which keeps the weeds down.

Saturday June 24: a fun night at the neighbors 60th B-Party.  Of course it rained but... we need the rain..

Sunday a fun lunch with cousin Linda and Danny then a very fun golf game at Tagalong.  The weather was perfect today.  Linda gave me a few pictures,

Friday June 30 we went to Pine Brook Farm for a wonderful Walleye dinner.  They claim this is the last year they will be open.  By open, this year and last they had 4 dinners and a concert and a few weddings.  We ran into a few friends and met a few new ones.  Great evening to sit out and enjoy nature while eating melt in your mouth walleye.
