Friday night we had a pasta feed with our fellow volunteers and a Ranger talk in the campground.
I made the pasta sauce with venison meatballs and italian sausage, Gwen made the pasta, Ruth was in charge of the salad and Peg made garlic bread. It was all perfect!

Brian was our ranger for tonights talk. He did a great job telling us about the 1st things in the NPS. Alex helped with the fire.
Saturday we left about 7am for Lakeland. took us almost 6 hours to go 258 miles. We stopped at a few places for hiking, birding and eating along the way.

Ray flew into Tampa from Calif and Jenny flew from MSP. We all arrived at the hotel within 20 minutes of each other.. Off to dinner at a near by place Fish City. It was all good, they even had charbroiled oysters! long day means an early night.
Sunday: Eric and I headed to Circle B Ranch to look for the Common Hill Myna, no luck... we did see over 50 species and a wonderful morning walking around the preserve. We met up with Ray and Jenny to go to Jane's daughters (Patty) home for lunch.
Jane has had a few medical issues since we saw her last in November. Patty and Robin's daughter (Kylie) and her husband (Matt) and son (Luke) joined us for lunch. Great visit with the family.
We then went for dinner near our hotel, the wind was wild with tornado warnings most of the night.
Monday: Eric and I visited with my brothers before meeting up with Ray and Jenny to visit with Jane.
Tuesday we left Lakeland early. We had a nice campfire with the volunteers and Alex's son and daughter in law. It was a long weekend but so very fun to see everyone and a special surprise seeing Jenny.
I've been catching up on your blog. Glad you had good family time. It has been very cool in Arizona this month. It will get into the upper 60s, low 70s next week for the first time this year.
