Thanksgiving 2019 in Las Vegas

Our annual Thanksgiving trip to Las Vegas began in McAllen TX this year.

We had a stop over in Dallas Fort Worth before flying past the Hoover Dam.

Our first view of the Strip from the plane..

Our home this year was at the Platinum Hotel and Spa.  Nice one bedroom unit, comfortable, quiet with valet parking only...  we don't care for valet parking as we always leave something in the car that we need....  This place has a nice work out room, spa with steam room and indoor outdoor pool.  But too cold to use the pool!  we were hoping to take advantage of the pool this year...

The pool was very inviting but the weather did not cooperate.  It was an indoor and outdoor heated pool but to get to the indoor part we had to pass through the outdoor part!

The views here are spectacular!

We had dinner at Joe's Seafood, Steak and Stone Crab in the Forum at Ceasers.

Roberta gave us beautiful necklace that was specially engraved and a great mug!

I was the only one who had the Thanksgiving dinner.  it was all good but too much food!!!

Although cold and windy we are able to get out each morning for a walk.  We visited the Henderson Bird Viewing area, Sunset Park, Lake Mead, Desert NWR-Corn Creek (for the LeConte's Thrasher) and Floyd Lamb at Tule Springs.

dinner on Friday was at Tuscany Casino, a delightful Italian meal was enjoyed by all..

big winner!!

although we did not find the Leconte's Thrasher we did find this domestic Peacock!

The weather this year hampered our outings a little bit.  No long walks on the strip, no sightings of Elvis but plenty of good times with friends.  We really enjoy our time with our friends and love the tradition of meeting up every year at Thanksgiving.
