July 2025. visiting friends, kayaking

 July 1: we begin the monty with sad news.  We lost one of our Sandhill Colts.  Last night we had two but this morning there was only one with the parents.  

July 2:  perfect day to spend on the pontoon.  We left at 10:00 am got back at 3:30 pm.  

July 3: we went to Nelson Lake (by Hayward) to visit with the Goodwins.  they rented a house for the holidays. fun afternoon, great conversations and fabulous food!  We got to meet the newest member of the family, Ellie!

July 4:  very hot and humid.  Our Mud Lake Gathering was at John and Karen Brickners.  Only 8 families attended.  We stayed inside the Shed eating and talking...  fun time with the neighbors.

July 5: celebration of life for our neighbor Gary Gunn.  It was kind of a rainy day, we visited with the family and friends for a few hours. 

July 14:  hot and humid but a good day for a round of golf at Lynndale with our friend Rick.  

the Twin Fawns are getting big.  they like to romp around the yard and try to avoid the squirrels.

July 17: girls day in Rice Lake while Eric went kayaking with Steve G and Scott J. 

July 21 Happy 36th Wedding anniversary to us!  The best half of my life spent married to Eric, a wonderful partner

It seems like he does keep stuff he really likes around and takes good care of them.  (including me) but this shirt is at least 37 years old!

We went to Hayward to the Steakhouse Lodge.  good food, slow service. 

July 22:  junior is getting sooo big.  we think he is close to a month old!

What a summer/spring we are having.  we normally get one puzzle done for the season.  May-Oct.  but this year we already have 3 done!  That means too much time inside because of rainy days.  One year it took us a season and a half to finish one puzzle.... 

July 31:  Jr is growing at least an inch a day!
