November (Texas)

Mon Nov 13 we drove 74 miles today.  We are camping in Lewisville, TX between Dallas and Fort Worth at a city campground.  $9 a night for 50 amp.   Before we left OK,  Roxanne stopped by to drop off some fresh pecans (from her trees) and moonshine a friend made!

Great walking path around this very large park that is on Lewis Lake.  Windows open all night!  love the fresh air while sleeping.

Lake Lewis Environmental Learning Area (LLELA)  is right around the corner from us.  $5 entry fee, 5 great trails, we spent the entire day hiking the trails.

Who is wearing shorts and NO Jacket!!

Great afternoon visiting with cousin Patti Cook and Allison at

We don't get to see them too often, we had a wonderful get together over great food.

Today's hike was at

in The Colony and one in Frisco

both trails were really urban walks, nice paths and a lot of the walk was near water.

Mourning Dove

Belted Kingfisher

The clouds were back again today, but the temps were in the high 60's low 70's

Today's  (Nov 17) journey takes us about 40 miles south of here to Grand Prairie TX.  We will stay here until we return from our Las Vegas Thanksgiving Celebration.

So much construction around Dallas/Fort Worth makes the traffic horrific.  Luckily we have no place to go quickly.

The park has a nice little hiking trail and bike trails that we walked a few days.  We also found a nice path at Legacy River parks.

We do not like "repeats" when it comes to restaurants but...  we went to Babe's in 2012, and it was so good it deserved a repeat.

we had a 10 minute wait..  But well worth every second of it.  The fried chicken and the smoked chicken was fabulous, the corn and green beans were perfect, the mashed potatoes and gravy were spectacular and the biscuits were to die for!!

Another great meal..

Finally some great weather.  Although a bit cool at night, in fact Eric had to scrap the truck windows!  But the sun comes out and the wind died down.

Off to Las Vegas to meet our good friends for Thanksgiving dinner.
