(I didn't take pictures so I am borrowing these from Fred! )
this was Fred and Kim's burger. they shared a double meat. Juicy and delicious.
On Wednesday Jan 23 we went to a Bluegrass Festival in Port Isabel. $20 a person was a bit high but the time was from 9 am to 3 pm. Perfect for us old folks who hate to drive at night. There was basically two bands:
The Gold Wing Express
The Kody Norris Band
they were both very good. There were about 150 people in the audience. We only seen the morning shows, went to lunch then home.
We got new Stairs!! Our stairs are in their 5th year, although they are not used all summer and are not in the outside elements all summer they get a lot of use all winter, lots of rain and sunshine too. This year we broke a few bolts etc.. I have been looking at new stairs for a few years now and finally pushed the button to purchase a very sturdy set. They were really easy to install and we are very happy with our new stairs. Its also the little things is life that count.
One of our neighbors have the same stairs and after seeing his we decided that they were perfect for us. I have a hard time buying anything that I have not seen live in person. So glad he showed us his stairs...
Sunday Jan 27: went to Mexico today for lunch and a bit of shopping. Lots of people were doing the same thing. The stores and restaurants were all packed, and people were buying stuff.. the lines were all pretty long.
Monday Jan 28, our people are back to work, the shutdown is over for now. Great to see everyone. On Tuesday we (the volunteers) had a luncheon to welcome back the staff. The food was all great and it was fun to see everyone together again.
