Super Bowl Sunday and visit with Brother Ray

Feb, 3,  The weather turned unseasonably warm for Super Bowl Sunday.  The volunteers gathered in the Outpost Building to watch the game and enjoy each others company.

Ray flew in from California via Houston on Monday afternoon. We picked him up at Harlingen airport then headed to the Tiki Condos on SPI.  Our unit (#117) was a two bedroom, two bathroom unit on the first floor.

We just hung around talking and talking on Monday night, eating snacks and enjoying a few drinks.

Tuesday we went walking in the morning, the day began very foggy but warm by lunch the sun came out. Great lunch at Louie's Backyard.

Beach time:

around 3 o'clock the clouds came in and it got chilly!  We went out to Daddy's Cajun Seafood Market for a shrimp and fish dinner.  Mine was a bit too peppery but all was good.

Wed:  We went to the Sea Turtle Rescue Center right across the street from our property.  There was a pretty good educational talk about the turtles and tanks with resident turtles and tanks with patient turtles that will someday be released.

A drive out to the north side of the Island, we found a sand plow!  Better than finding a snow plow!

Cerviche and beer at the Padre Island Brewery then Dirty Al's for shrimp dinners.

We really enjoyed our time on the island,  we especially enjoyed our visit with Ray.  We took him to the airport on Thurs morning after a great breakfast at Teds.

Back to work tomorrow....
