Camping Vacation at Falcon SP

Sunday Feb 17 we headed west towards Falcon State Park for a much needed vacation!!  We stayed here about 6 years ago and our main goal was to find the Red-billed Pigeon.  Our weather on Sunday was hot and humid, perfect for me.  We made many stops to hike and bird along the way.

We went further west to San Ynagico preserve where a local establishment had bird feeders out and bathrooms for our use.

this place was by the library in Zapata, kind of a scary walk..  no snakes but lots of birds!

Oh Oh, cows planing on crossing the border!  this is the closest we came to seeing a crisis on the border.

Of course the instructions say NOT to make over an open fire but...  it turned out perfect!  Better than micro wave but not as good as my popcorn.

Although the weather did not cooperate and it was a bit cold and we did not bring enough clothes, in fact Eric forgot some of his at home so we went shopping, we had a great time and after 6 tries we got our Red Billed Pigeon!
