Char Broiled Oysters!

We were first introduced to Char Broiled Oysters in New Orleans in 2013.  Since that time we try them whenever we see them on the menu.  Some places are good, others not so good.  We have had them twice since we arrived here in South Texas.  Neither one was very good.  So we thought "We can do this".  And we did...

We only bought 4 fresh oysters from our favorite HEB at 75 cents each...

We just happen to have our own shucking equipment.  We had bought them in 2010 while at Francis Marion National Forest near Charleston NC.

This one popped right open but the others were a bit more challenging.. But we succeed in our quest to get them open.  they were all juicy and huge!

I made the butter, garlic, oregano and pepper sauce

On a hot grill the the sauce was added

the flames came up

after about 4 minutes we added the park cheese

cooked until the cheese was melted

They were Perfect!!  Next time we will get a dozen.  No pearls today but juicy tasty oysters were all we needed.
