Denison Texas

Friday April 3, 2015.  It was about 75 and humid when we left the Dallas area.  Took about 2.5 hours to go 100 miles north, the weather dropped to a cool 65 with less humidity and wind..  Good thing we made reservations as Easter weekend is a big camping weekend here in Texas.

we found a few morel mushrooms on our walk!

Eric cooked them up for breakfast on Saturday!

Lake Texoma has 580 miles of shoreline with 89000 acres of water!

Saturday April 4: Friend from High school (and Fitbit Friend) Roxanne Bartelmey lives close in Sherman TX.  She met us at our park this morning.  We went for a great hike at Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge.

time for a short rest

she took us to a wonderful place for lunch!

the catfish was delightful!

we stopped at a local distillery for a taste and tour

the tour and drinks were both very good.

a great day visiting with Roxy, Eric finally got to meet his fitbit challenger!

Go Wisconsin!  Big win over Kentucky.

Sunday April 5 Happy Easter:  Rainy and cool start to the day.  We headed back to the Wildlife Refuge to hike a bit.  It was a bit wet, cool (48) and windy...  we found some White Pelicans

making some Texas Tea!

Easter dinner at home, grilled ham, scalloped potatoes and veggies.  It was all good!

Hate to leave Texas but tomorrow we head to northern Oklahoma, hoping for good weather and the wind at out backs.
