We have friends that say "when the heat comes on we head south", we plan on leaving the end of this month. Lots to get ready before we head out, winterizing boats, canning veggies and fruits, cleaning and more cleaning, plowing and pruning gardens and of course packing.
We enjoyed the Applefest in Bayfield Wi on Lake Superior one day and Cranberry fest in Stone Lake Wi the next day. beautiful weekend although a bit cool but perfect for walking, shopping and eating.
Another great weather weekend was spent hiking among the beautiful trees.
Eric had to put his toes in Lake Superior on Oct 11... just because he could
pileated woodpecker
snake!
A great bounty of apples!
we gave a lot away, canned and dehydrated a lot too.. hope we can keep them fresh for a least a few months.
We lucked out this October with the weather, warmer than normal and lots of sun.
Oct 22: time to pull the RV out of the barn and get it packed up...
We will leave Birchwood on Monday Oct 26. Our destination this year is Big Cypress National Preserve in South Florida. We will be volunteering on the preserve so we will be staying at Midway Campground, half way between Naples and Miami. As we have never been there before we are looking forward to new adventures, food and of course birds..
Have a great winter in the sunshine, looking forward to reading about your travels! Safe Travels.
