Kayaking at Rio Bentsen SP

Super Bowl Sunday was a beautiful day in the Valley.  Hot and humid with little wind and sunshine!  Just the way it should be everyday, if you ask me.

After a wonderful walk around the park we gathered our kayaking gear and boarded the tram

The tram ride is about 1/2 mile to the boat landing.  Not too far but the inflatable kayak is pretty heavy.

And here we go! The lake was much larger than we thought.  We could have spent another hour or so on the lake.  It was kind of like being at home, except for the palm trees instead of pine trees.  No one but us on the lake!  It was fun to be on a lake again. so relaxing and peaceful.

After a bit of pool time when we got back home.  It was time to make our SuperBowl dinner.  Salmon burger for Eric, thin T-bone steak for me!  Great game, Go Eagles!
