Started the day early (7:30) for Joshua Tree National Park
we hiked a couple of trails, seen some beautiful rock formations and trees
after about 5 hours we were hungry! time to go for a late lunch
the place is quite unique, the food very very good
the chili was made with large pieces of beef, pinto beans, cheese, onions and a little spicy, but very good. I got the grilled (over mesquite) chicken and cheese fries, Eric got the 1/2 lb burger.

one last stop to end the day at Kenny Irwin's Robolights. The property is in the Movie Colony of Palm Springs, about 2 acres of land with Kenny's sculptures. they are a bit odd!
his neighbors are not happy but he is allowed to show off his art.
Robots looking like castoffs from a 1950s sci-fi film — some with moving parts — intermingle with inflatable Christmas decorations. A children's carnival ride, painted nearly all in yellow, runs nonstop on the edge of the property. A tiny pink building — Santa's workshop? — houses shelves full of pink human skulls.
All of it is the work of artist Kenny Irwin Jr., who built the display on the same property where he lives. Guests wander through his lawn, past his house and pool, as they gawk and stop for photographs.
