we headed up to Idyllwild Nature Center. Its about 5500 feet above sea level, we are staying at about 500 ft. We were hoping to find a few new birds.. did not find any new ones but had a wonderful day walking around in the forest. we did see a little bit of snow
After seeing the "Wild" movie we had to walk a bit on the Pacific Crest Trail, obviously it would take us about 2 years to walk the entire thing, we walked about 200 feet of it!
I did have to wear my long johns, gloves, hat and flannel lined jacket. There was not really any wind and the sun was shining so all in all a wonderful day.
Saturday was our BEST day: we headed to downtown PS to have lunch and a bit of shopping. Yesterday Palm Springs started the Best free trolley ride called the Buzz, hop on and off at any stop.

We went to Tyler's for the Best Burger in the desert!
the potato salad was the best too if you like old fashioned potato salad.
Brandini's has the Best Toffee and the Best brownie!
Two high school kids needed money to go Italy, this is really the best toffee and brownie ever! We bought some on Thurs night.
Desert was not the brownie or toffee but the Best Shake! it is number 1 on Trip Advisor and it deserves to be ranked #1.
Eric got the Blueberry Caramel and I had the Date Walnut. They were soooo good, the extra donut was very good too!

finally the best Michalada that I ever made, Killians, Zing Zang and some lime/chili seasoning... Oh so good!
Sunday we left early to participate in a bird walk at the Coachella Valley Preserve. Our guide Frank was really good. We seen one new bird today! Pool time in the afternoon although the sun hid behind some clouds, had to wear a jacket sitting on the edge of the Hot Tub!
