Final work week in Big Cypress

Tues Mar 22, 2016:  We had a cold front come in yesterday, had to put the heat on this morning!  That should not happen again until we get north.  It makes for very good sleeping with the windows open although pollen count is very high.

We plan on getting a lot of packing done this week.  A little early to change out the summer clothes to winter clothes.  Its amazing how much "stuff" needs to be put away before we can move out.

Great day for outdoor chores, fire pits all cleaned out and a bit of mowing gets this campground looking good!  Our occupancy rate has dropped to half.  Most people have already began their move north.  We spend less time picking up trash and more time talking.

Wed: another day of packing the RV.  It is suppose to rain tomorrow so we spent most of our time putting the outside stuff away, bikes, tire covers, grill etc...  A little more mowing and fire pit cleaning filled out our day.  All our volunteers met for appetizers and cocktails, fun evening with the group.

The trees are really beginning to bud out!  Its getting really green now.  Pollen count is very very high, birds are hiding in the leaves.  Its not warm enough to put the A/C on and close the windows.  Well we could close the windows but we don't...

Thurs: Chuck's Will Widow calling this morning!  Although "vocal" a new bird for us!

More packing, we really don't have that much stuff, we are just slow at getting packed.

Fri:  final work day!  where has the time gone???  Volunteer luncheon and returned our shirts and keys today.

What a great experience we had this year.  Great neighbors, great activities, great food and great fun! We signed up to come back next year.  We missed a few birds and would love to experience Key West without the wind and cold.  Maybe take a swamp buggy ride and of course eat more shrimp.

time to head up to Lakeland for a week before heading home to Wisconsin.
