Where did the sun go?

Mid January and we have not seen the sun in a week!  I don't recall winter being so cold or gloomy in South Texas.  We still manage to get out and walk but it is difficult as most of our really cold weather clothes are back home.  It seems that ever since we left home the weather has been unseasonably cold, wet and windy.  We have seen too many 37 deg days.

We did go see "The Post" this week. It was a pretty good movie, I kind of remember some of the names and events that happened, I was in High School and had other things to keep my mind busy.

We had planned on going to Corpus Christi this week but cancelled our reservations because of the weather.  In fact the State Park reservation system was closed due to the weather!  We did make reservations for next week. Its suppose to be in the mid 60's Mon thru Thurs, we are going.  They have Shelters with Amenities, which means beds, A/C and heat, electricity and solid walls.

Our refrigerator went on vacation again.  It seems like it does that about every 6 weeks.  We turn it off for a few days then restart it and like magic it works!  Luckily we don't really keep a lot of food in our fridge or freezer.  Even at home our fridge is not really full, mostly milk, juice and some veggies and condiments.  Its always something!

We have been here about 6 weeks, which means we only have 6 weeks left.  We are hoping to get at least one beach time before we leave.  We received a phone call from the Welcoming Committee this week.  Some how we fell through the cracks and have not been welcomed to the community.  They made good on it, giving us a packet of information. Of course inviting us to join in on all the programs, games and activities.

We still don't have neighbors on either side of us.  Rumor was that someone was suppose to be renting one of the lots.    Everyone here is so friendly and nice.  Mostly from MN, WI and of course Canada but a lot people are from Texas too!  They come from Dallas and Austin areas.

Friday Jan 19, the sun is forecasted to show its beautiful face tomorrow.  we shall see......
