OK with visits in TX

Oct 20: it was a bit foggy when we began our journey to Ponca City OK, just over the border from Kansas. We took the tollway, on a Sunday morning there was not too much traffic. When we arrived at our RV park the front leg on the RV had some issues!  Eric had to hand crank it to get the truck off of the hitch.   So far this trip every travel day has had some issue or another.  We were hoping to get through this journey without any issues...  It is always something, but every day???  Oh well, we will drive to the southern part of Oklahoma to Winstar Casino RV park for 3 days.  Hoping we can get someone to come out and fix it when we get there....

We did get set up and go to Kaw Lake for some hiking and outdoor time.  Being cooped up in the truck is hard on us.  We tend to get a little crabby etc...  Its all better once we get some walking and sight seeing in.

Monday Oct 21:  About 220 miles to WinStar Casino Fun Town RV park.  Our repair guy said he should be by tomorrow by 9:30 to look at the front jack and water heater...

After setting up we stayed close to the park, hiked a bit, stopped for a beer at Toby Keith's, played a bit at the casino then back home for "must watch TV"....

Tuesday, repair guy came out early to look at the jack and water heater.. Somehow he managed to get the water heater operational...  All he did was turn the propane on, we tried it several times but no luck.  We need a new leg, he will order and hopefully install on Wed or early Thurs morning.   After he left we went for a hike in Denton at Clear Creek Nature area.

We met up with cousin Patti and Allison at Rooster's Roadhouse in Denton.  The food was great and the visit was wonderful.  So fun to be able to catch up with these two.

Wed:  We went to Hagerman Wild Life Refuge for a walk and to do a bit of birding.  We left there by 11:00 as our repairman was due at our place by noon.  As we were driving back to the RV we seen that he was just in front of us!  It took him about 45 minutes to replace the broken leg and get everything in good running order.  Now the water heater was a different matter.  Its still not working but not a problem, we will wait until we get to the refuge to get it repaired.

The food was very good, especially the catfish, the BBQ was very good too!  We had a fun visit, this is the 3rd time I have seen her this year!

The weather was great although a bit windy.  calling for rain tonight and all day tomorrow.  We head to Waco for 3 nights.
