Sabino Canyon

We arrived back in Tucson on Tues Feb 24.  Our travels were pretty uneventful but long...  we left our home in Birchwood at 6 am central time, arrived to our home in Tucson at 6 pm mt time..  13 hours..

Today Thurs Feb 26 we headed to


what a beautiful day and beautiful place to hike.  we were looking for a few new birds but did not get them.  But we loved the canyon.  we took a 3.5 mile hike



then took the tram to the top...


we then walked the 4.5 miles down the mountain!  should have walked up, but thought we would spend less energy by walking down...




we noticed when we landed on Tues how green it was looking.  There was a bit of rain and hot weather while we were gone.  the flowers are popping and so are the trees..

so glad to be back in the desert...

    I have to say of all of the places I hiked by Tucson...Sabino Canyon was a favorite! Looks good to be back there, not warming up much here. How are the knees doing Eric, after the Birkie?

      Steve, we agree.. Sabino Canyon is the prettiest one so far. Eric is doing well. he was a bit more sore after the 4 mile hike down the canyon then he was after the Birkie!
