Our RV park is actually in Rossville Ga on the site of a Civil War Battlefield. We have never slept on a battlefield before.
Why is Chattanooga called Gig City?
Chattanooga is the first city in the Western Hemisphere to offer one-gigabit-per-second fiber internet service to all residents and businesses.
As we had lost an hour we needed to get out and walk/hike. We drove about 8 miles to Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park
There are thousands of memorials, placards and monuments throughout the park.
We had a great afternoon walking around the grounds, 5000 acres of woods and open areas. We seen about 100 deer.
Tues Nov 16: A bit cloudy to begin the day, we found a great place to hike
it was pretty much all up hill (both driving and hiking) to Park Point. About 5200 steps and 58 floors!

it was a bit expensive but our tour guide was fabulous and the falls were beautiful. We have been in better caves before but worth the money and time to see the falls.

Wednesday Nov 18: I woke up in the middle of the night with a sore throat! by morning nose was stuffed and sneezing commenced! what the heck... Forecasing rain all afternoon/evening. Off to Walmart for a few things, then to the movies to see "Spectre" and once the rain let up laundry time..
Thursday Nov 19: I felt miserable this morning, my sore throat got better during the night but my nose is so stuffed and sneezing. We got a later start to the day so I could take a nap after breakfast.
We headed to Rock City
A beautiful garden set in huge rocks. its a bit of walking, close spaces and since it is November not a lot of flowers but all in all a beautiful place.

This was a cavern with dioramic's of fairytales. Black light was used to show off the characters
it took us about 2 hours and we were pretty much alone. No one else was there between 9-11 so we could take our time and enjoy the place.
Of course it was lunch time so we went to the #1 Trip Advisor rated restaurant in Chattanooga:
Larry came out to greet us, talked a bit then took our orders.

It was all good. the sides were good too! If we came back we to this area we would make this a repeat.
We went looking for the Peter Toth carving in Cleveland Tn. we found it!
What is a Whispering Giant? A Whispering Giant is a giant wood carving honoring Native Americans created by the artist Peter Wolf Toth. These giant wood carvings are in all 50 states and parts of Canada. Each carving honors the Native American’s who reside or once resided in the area.

We have seen a lot of the "Trail of Tears" on our trip this year. I think this is where it began.
We were so impressed with Chickamauga. Both sides came together to build the park. You saw many more places in the area.
