Rabbits too!
We went to Westwego (local town) for dinner. of course we had oysters and shrimp. The shrimp was out of this world!
Nov 8: Rained all night and early this morning. After getting a few loads of laundry done, (they have free washers and dryers right here in the park) we headed to New Orleans French Quarter by ferry.
it was a 3 minute ride! $2 per person!

of course we have to get a few Pralines...
While walking the streets we found this very decorated home..
Armstrong Park
it was sprinkling while we were here but then cleared up for the rest of the day.
Finally got our Charbroiled Oysters. we have been looking for them everywhere we go but only find them in New Orleans. They were fabulous... oh the Jambalaya was great too.
We hit the casino for a short session before getting dinner. It seems all we did was eat! Eric had crayfish while I went with the Shrimp and grits.. Never had a bad meal in this city!!
One more stop before taking the ferry back to camp

Nov 9: another overcast day. we headed to
great broad walks, and a 600 year old Cypress
our Muffuletta was the best... after walking over 4 miles we needed nourishment.
our first alligator of the season, he was just a little guy
after our great walk in the wild we headed back to the city one more time to the Hilton, Dragos restaurant for the original charbroiled oysters and a Sazerac! I almost broke a tooth! I got a very small pearl in one of the oysters! a small one but my first pearl...
they were very good. too bad other places have not picked up on the charbroiling. not sure if we will ever get back here!
it was a fast two days in the area, glad we were able to spend time here but it is time to move on...
