Las Vegas Thanksgiving

We had to get up really early to catch our flight from Tampa to Atlanta to Vegas.  The traffic was minimal, took us about 25 minutes to get to the airport.  About 10 minutes to get our bags checked and through security, plenty of time for a wonderful Breakfast at Columbia Restaurant.  Our 1 hour flight to Atlanta was perfect, we were first in line for take off, smooth quiet flight.  Although we had to get off of the plane, it was the same one we were taking to Las Vegas!  no worries about our plane showing up.  Great 4 hour flight with a nice lunch and 2 movies.  By the time we got to baggage claim our bags were going around the conveyor.  It only took about 25 minutes to get a rental car!  time to go walking at the Clark County wetlands.

We stayed at the Tropicana in the Bungalow rooms overlooking the closed pool area.

 After a small bit to eat we were wiped out!  time to unwind and relax in our room.  flying across country is very tiring and we don't do well with time zone changes..

Thanksgiving and everyone has arrived for our 10th annual gathering.  All looking pretty good too!

Roberta and John were in charge of picking the restaurant this year.

Roberta and I had the turkey, John and John had steak, Eric had chicken and Kathy had salad and crab.  It was all good, service was phenomenal, desert was over the top.

Black Friday: no shopping for us

it was pretty cool, the first place we went to was Floyd Lamb park, the grass was very crunchy (frozen) and we found Ice too.  By the time we got here it was much warmer but windy.

our weather has been perfect for walking, on Saturday we (Gaskill's and us) went to Sunset Park for a wonderful walk though the desert and around the small lake.  We made a few stops on our way back to the hotel.

This one sure was fun.  Some old pinball machines that you can play!  for just 25 cents or 50 cents you can play for minutes!  unlike the slot machines where for $5 or 10 you can play for minutes.

Eric took this machine very seriously.  it was fun trying to keep the ball in play.

We went back to NY NY for dinner at Greenbergs deli for delicious corned beef, pastrami and turkey sandwiches.

Sunday our final day in Sin City.  It was very cold and windy morning.  Eric and I went back to Henderson Bird Viewing Preserve for a few hours before dropping off the rental car.  We took a taxi back to our hotel then slowly walked to Harrah's to meet the gang for a wonderful evening of great music.

Our flight out on Monday was at 7:00 am PST!  we left the hotel by 4:20 and was by our gate before 5:00! you just never know what the lines for checking baggage or security will be like.  We had a great flight to Atlanta then back to Tampa.  Home by 6:00 pm EST.

Another great week with great friends.  Lots of laughs, talking, eating, walking and a little gambling.
