Another uneventful drive today. We headed to Roswell New Mexico to the Trailer Village RV Park.
The park has long big sites, laundry and an older shower house.
After getting settled in we headed into town, our first stop was the Visitor Center to pick up maps etc. Second stop at the UFPO Museum and Research Center
$5 per person to get in... not really worth it. Pretty dated and no photographs allowed. Local shops in the area sell lots of alien stuff.
Time to walk so we headed to
we were able to get about a 2.5 mile walk in, no new birds... beautiful day, sunny, no jackets, no flannel lined jeans! temp about 65.
Did not see any interesting restaurants so we decided to try cooking a frozen pizza in the oven. took a bit longer than 18 minutes but turned out pretty good.
Since we plan on being home for Eric to ski the Birkie (American Birkebeiner) on the 3rd Saturday in Feb, we registered for the Sax-Zim Bog Birding fest in Northern Minnesota the second weekend in Feb. Not sure where we will be in Feb but hoping to know by mid Jan so we can make airline reservations...
Friday Nov 7: Beautiful day forecasted so off we go to
we ended up staying the whole day from 8:30 to about 3:30, hiking, driving and looking for birds. we actually got 2 new birds here. Beautiful place to hike, walk and just be outside. There was about 500 Snow Geese that landed early today.
A quick stop at Walmart....
Another great day in the Southwest. Tomorrow we head to Brantley State Park near Carlsbad NM. Its only about 75 miles from here so we don't have to leave early.
I think you should have stood in the picture with the aliens, that would have been really cool. Loving this weather. New blog posted and starting another. ☀️☀️
