April 2 Our trip today was just over 200 miles but no highway miles so it took us about 5 hours.  It was all good until the last 20 miles when the GPS took us on really small roads..  Happens every time, you would think we would learn..  It was sprinkling when we arrived but soon stopped.

We found a wonderful path to walk and found a place for dinner.

We had eaten in one in Nashville last year.  The Catfish is very good as is the cornbread and hushpuppies.  As usual too much food, so we will be eating a few more meals of wonderful catfish.

We were expecting sever thunderstorms needless to say, we were not disappointed. The storms began at about 6 pm and went all night long.  Lots of thunder and a few tornado warnings. 6+ inches of rain, so flooding of some roads.

Mon April 3: the rain stopped at around 7:30 am. We took a morning walk to Kroger.  it is right across the street.  after 4 months of driving 40+ miles to a grocery store it was a real treat to walk.

We first went to the state park but it was closed because of flooding.  We almost stayed there but decided against going there.   we were able to walk around the golf course where we seen this Eastern Bluebird

We then went to the Pearl Wild Life Management area right off the Natchez Trace Parkway.  We found several birds, alligators, snakes and otters..

After a short nap we walked around our camp and a YMCA park next door.  Right by our entrance we found a mom and dad Brown Thrasher and 2 fledgelings they were too cute.  crying for food and help.

tomorrow we head to Marion Arkansas, just one night there.
