Yuma AZ, Imperial WLR,

Left FOY at about 9 am Pacific time, took about 2 hours to go 115 miles to Cactus Gardens in Yuma. Its a bit dated but will work for the week.

these sites are a bit shorter but room for the truck.  

the RV Bus next to us is 50 years old!  they still drive it from and to Canada!

this pool is a bit deep in the middle but very nice and about 88 degs
 

After setting up we headed to the Old town area for lunch Das Bratwurst Haas

 the beers and pretzel was very good

 my brat was fabulous

 Eric's schnitzel was the best!  Even the Snef (mustard) was very good, I am not a mustard fan but used it on both the pretzel and brat

 we took a walk thru the old town, there was a military fest of some sort going on, replica of USS Arizona on display.

Next stop was the visitor center and to the WestEnd Park to find some birds!  nothing new today....

We cleaned out the fridge, freezer and pantry while at FOY, had to grocery shop!  Needless to say we did not need to buy cookies (as we have a cabinet full).

Sunday Jan 11:  Imperial WLR

we seen some mule deer, we were looking for burros but no luck.

 we did see the Ferruginous hawk after looking for it for 3 years!!!

took a walk on the

Volcanic eruptions of hot lava and ash created the landscape. Rocks tinted by minerals come in many colors...

this is a Hoodoo...  it is created by water eroding from several directions.

It was kind of a cloudy day then the rain began.  It rained hard for about an hour after we got back to the RV.

Monday Jan 12: After a bit of exercise we headed to Mexico!

 first stop was to get new glasses..  I got two pair for $399!  it took about 3 hours to get them made.  while we waited we shopped a bit and of course had lunch.

began with a Michalada, mine got knocked over while taking picture!

not really any stores here, just vendors on the street, they do have about 300 dentists, 200 pharmacies, 50 eyeglass places and a few liquor stores.  I did pick up a bottle of brandy!

there was a very long line to get out of Mexico, took us about an hour!

we then headed to:

 Felicity is the self acclaimed center of the world.  $3 per person to get into the museum.  they wanted another $2 to get into the pyramid and stand on the center of the world.  well we are too cheap to spend the extra $2 and in reality it is just a marketing gimmick.

The granite museum of history was nice it is not completed but very impressive so far.

 for some reason they also have a section of the old Eiffel tower stairway

Went home next, tried out the pool and hot tub.  both were nice, not as hot as FOY but hotter than ORPS..

We still have 4 more days here in Yuma... hope to find at least 5 more new birds!!!
